Meaning “Undying, Great death” is a powerful life-giving chant removing fear and relaxing the mind.ĪP SAHAEE HOA SACHE DA SACHE DHOA, HAR, HAR, HAR I salute Thee, primal one, pure in the beginning, through all the ages – the One. Adi Shakti means the “Primal Power,” Sarab Shakti means “All Power”, and Prithum Bhagawati means “which creates through God.” Chanting it eliminates fears and fulfills desires. The Adi Shakti Mantra tunes into the frequency of the Divine Mother, and to primal protective, generating energy. It surrounds the magnetic field with protective light, and means “I bow to the primal Guru (guiding consciousness who takes us to God-Realization), I bow to wisdom through the ages, I bow to True Wisdom, I bow to the great, unseen wisdom.” Known as the Mangala Charn Mantra, it is often chanted for protection. ~ Sevaji (Seva Singh) Common Kundalini Yoga Mantras Through the power of the Shabd we attain Anahat – a state where your body and consciousness becomes the vibration. The mantras below are written in Gurmukhi, meaning “from the mouth of the Guru”, and carry this vibration.īy chanting these mantras, the combination of words, breath, stimulation by the tongue, and their rhythm along with mental focus, elevates the power of the sound current or vibration to the level of Guru, also known as Shabd Guru. While many mantras can be thought of a powerful affirmations, the mantras from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib are imbued with a unique vibration that elevates the words from mere affirmations to the level of the Shabd Guru. Further, the tongue will activate meridian points in the upper palate that stimulates the hypothalmus. This also helps us with our power of projection at the navel center (3rd chakra, the Manipura). By chanting out loud our body acts as a soundboard, absorbing and amplifying the vibration, much like the body of a guitar when the strings are plucked. Naam, or vibrational identity, is our expression of this – what we vibrate, we become. Naad is the essence of all sound, and is the basis for Naad Yoga, which is an aspect of Kundalini Yoga. The word mantra comes from the Sanskrit words man and tra – “man” meaning “mind” and “tra” meaning “to free”.īeyond simple chanting of mantras we move towards the power of sound current of certain Mantras. Chanting is a way for the mind to keep busy while we attempt to reach inner stillness. We’ve all experienced the mind jumping like a monkey from thought to thought, worrying about what we have to do, what we should have done…etc. Mantras are a useful tool for keeping the mind focused within.
